Our Church Staff

At First Christian Church we have been blessed with the opportunity to begin anew.  We continue to be in prayer about the new direction that the Lord has for our congregation.  A part of that is asking His guidance regarding our church staff.

While we, as Disciples, continue to be mainly led by the priesthood of believers, we are richly blessed by the presence and ministry of our newly formed church staff.   Please keep these folks in your prayers.  They seek to serve our Lord by leading us in corporate worship and ministering to our congregation and community.  They oversee the operations of our facilities and ensure that the Lord's work is done.  They are a blessing to us and radiate the Lord's peace and joy.  Pray for them as they seek guidance from the Holy Spirit and attempt to be true to Christ's gospel in every way.  Pray for our congregation that we may bless these Saints as richly as they have blessed us.

Take an opportunity to get to know our Blessings.  Their information is below.

Senior Minister

Reverend Daniel T. Anderson

A lifelong Disciple, Daniel was born in raised in First Christian Church in Clarksville, Texas.  He and his family moved to Paris, Texas in the late 70’s and joined First Christian Church in Paris, where he was baptized.  Even at a young age, people recognized a call to ministry in him and began to foster that call.  He moved again to Longview, Texas in his early teens and became active in youth activities at Woodland Christian Church.  While attending college at the University of Texas in Austin, his attention turned away from ministry, but in his mid 20s he returned to school and earned his undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.  He then pursued and received his M. Div from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth.  While at SFA he met and married his lovely wife Diana of almost 6 years.  He has served congregations as a licensed minister for almost 8 years at UCC in Tyler Texas and FCC in Timpson Texas as youth minister and as senior minister respectively.  He has been active in the NEA youth programs serving as Chi Rho Counsel moderator and camp director for numerous Chi Rho and Created to be Me camps.  He received ordination through the DOC in the Southwest in the fall of 2008 and now serves as the senior minister at First Christian Church in Perryton, Texas.

We are thrilled to have Dan and his wife Diana as members of our church family.  He brings the passion of Christ to work with him every day and has a rare enthusiams for his work.  His approachable nature and keen insights have become a cherrished part of every worship service.  We believe his leadership and dedication to our Lord and His task are key as we seek to extend our ministry and bring the Living Water to a thirsty community and world.

You can contact Daniel by calling our church office, or by e-mail at pastor@fccperryton.com.

Music Director
Kay Ann Cockrell
Kay Ann Cockrell

Kay Ann Cockrell is a lifelong member of our congregation.  Within our body, she came to know Christ, was baptised and took her first communion.  She was married in our church and she and her husband, Jason, have dedicated all three of their children to God here.  We are thrilled to have her serve our Lord and Savior by directing our music programs and leading us in worship.

Kay Ann has a degree in vocal performance and served as adjunct faculty at Oklahoma Panhandle State University.  She has a passion for music and for God.  From her high school days she has felt a call to music ministry.  It is her deepest desire to bring people closer to God in worship through music and song.  Her keen ear and strong vocals bring a level of beauty often not found in a rural congregation.  We are blessed to have this angelic voice among us.

You can contact Kay Ann via e-mail at
music@fccperryton.com or by calling our church office at 806-435-4041.

Church Secretary
Marieta Autry

Marieta is that daughter of one of the hometown heros.  Her father coached football at Perryton High School from 1945-1950 and took the Rangers to the region level of the playoffs.  As is the life of a coaches family, they moved a number of times to locations as far away as Southern California and as near by as Canyon, Texas.  Her family finally settled in Plainview, Texas where Marieta graduated from high school and met her husband, Gary Autry. Both Marieta and her husband attended West Texas State University in Canyon and they were married in November, 1963.

Marieta and Gary have experienced the challenges that come with commitment.  They have chased dreams and faced realities together for 45 years.  For much of that time they lived in Canadian, Texas where Gary farmed and ranched and Marieta commuted to Perryton to work for Drs. Zoel and Z. Allen.  The couple finally moved to Perryton in 1991.  They have raised 2 boys who have gone on to have families of their own blessing the Autrys with five (5) grandchildren.  Their oldest son, Jimmy and his wife, Jennifer have two girls and live in Garner, Texas.  Their younger son, Johnny and his wife, Melody are both serving in the United States Air Force, hold the rank of Tech Sargent and are serving together in Germany.

Marieta comes to us after a 44 year career in the dental industry.  Her bright, warm smile and engaging personality prove that God made teeth to be an asset and not just a tool.  As our secretary she takes care of the daily business of the church.  She’s the face that greets those that come in our doors.  She’s the voice you hear when you call us on the phone.  She’s the hands and feet that make our church office run smoothly.  Come by our church office, give us a call, or e-mail Marieta at
church@fccperryton.com and find out why we believe that God has richly blessed us with Marieta Autry.

Anyone who has ever come through the doors of First Christian Church in Perryton has seen Christina's handywork.  She is the hands of Christ that dilligently care for God's house.  For fifteen (15) years she has cared for our church.  Lovingly she has made sure that anytime someone comes into the church building that he/she finds "God's house" as clean and hospitable an environment as possible.  Like a mother caring for her family she has nurtured each of us while she cares for our facillity.  Her glowing smile and ready kind words make a weekday visit to FCC worth the trip even if noone else is around.  She has been, and continues to be, one of the great blessings the Lord has bestowed upon our congregation.  We praise God for her continued presence among us.
