Welcome

At First Christian Church, our motto is and has always been, "To know Christ and make Him known."  It is in His Spirit that we come together as Christians, and in His Spirit that we open our doors and hearts to anyone entering our church.  Our congregation has a history of loving people and earnestly seeks to serve God by serving others.  Join us in fellowship as we celebrate the worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Experience with us the love and joy we share in Him.

What are these big spikes for?
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV)

Romans 3:23 states "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"  There is no way in which we can save ourselves, "Not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:9)  We all deserve death and hell.  Romans 6:23 states, "For the wages of sin is death."  Yet we can receive what we do not deserve.  God is holy and just and must punish sin, yet He loves us and has provided a remedy for our sin and death.  That remedy is His son, Jesus Christ who died on the cross with those spikes in his arms and legs so that we can be forgiven for all of the things we've done wrong toward God and towards other people.  "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." (1 Peter 3:18).  "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)  Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the father except through me." (John 14:6)

Not only did Christ die for our sins, but he got up from the grave.  He was resurrected defeating death so that those who believe would know that the promise of eternal life was true.  Because of Jesus, those who believe have nothing to fear.

Romans 6:23 states, "The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  This is a free gift that is yours for the asking.  So how do we get eternal life and avoid eternal death?  We must realize our condition of sin, and humbly ask for God's forgiveness.  Then we must confess a belief in Jesus Christ as the One and only Son of God and as Savior and Lord surrendering our lives to Him.  Romans 10:9-10 states, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."  In John 1:1, the Bible tells us, "To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God"

We invite you to pray and ask for God's salvation through Jesus Christ.  If you've done so, we welcome you to God's family.  If you have questions and want to know more about a relationship with Christ, we invite you to call, or e-mail our church office at
church@fccperryton.com .  Whether saved or searching, we invite you to worship with us each Sunday.  May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you in your journey.
